**Cytogenomics Professional Staff - Cleveland Clinic** The Molecular Pathology and Cytogenomics Section within the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OH) is seeking an additional full-time attending to join our Cytogenomics Professional Staff. The Section supports the testing needs of the Cleveland Clinic Health System and Cleveland Clinic Laboratories, our regional and national outreach program. The Section houses Cytogenomics and Molecular Diagnostics services and offers clinical laboratory testing based on cytogenetics, FISH, chromosomal microarrays, next generation sequencing, PCR-based testing, mass spectrometry, and more. Responsibilities are based on a “Patients First” attitude with an emphasis on professional interpretive services and close interaction with clinical colleagues. The Section hosts a Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship Program. An essential element of the job is mentoring and teaching residents and fellows. The Section is dedicated to efficient operation of the laboratory that includes, but is not limited to, test menu expansion via new test development and validation, mentoring of medical technologists, laboratory resources management and stewardship, quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, regulatory compliance, efficient communication with clinical and administrative colleagues, teaching of residents and fellows, results interpretation and test sign-out, and more. The Section runs tests for both oncology (solid tumor and hematological-based) and constitutional genetics. Applicants ideally have diagnostic expertise and scholarly accomplishments and/or potential in cytogenomics and constitutional genetics. Sign out responsibilities in karyotyping (somatic and constitutional), constitutional SNP arrays and molecular genetics is required; however, additional sign out opportunities are available across the section depending on the candidate’s interests. For candidates with experience and interest, there is an opportunity for leadership positions as Medical Director of constitutional molecular testing and/or Associate Director of the molecular diagnostics laboratory. Although the majority of the candidate’s efforts will be in clinical operations, participation in activities that support Cleveland Clinic’s educational and research mission is encouraged and expected. Applicants should hold a PhD, MD/PhD, or MD degree. Certification (or eligibility for certification) by the ABMGG in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics or Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics/Clinical Molecular Genetics and Genomics is essential. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University.
