Job Description

Performs a variety of laboratory procedures relevant to the Cytogenetic Laboratory. Prepares and tests specimens for examinations. Reports test results to the Supervisor. Maintains accurate records.

Job Responsibility

* Performs a variety of laboratory procedures relevant to the cytogenetic laboratory. * Prepares and tests specimens for examination. * Reports preliminary results to the Supervisor. * Maintains accurate records. * Responsible for the operation and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. Maintains the laboratory area in a clean and orderly manner. Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Basic Sciences, required. Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (or as appropriate to area of assignment), required. OR Completion of a clinical rotation at LIJ in the specific area noted above. Minimum of one (1) year work experience and/or training specific to the work being done in the area noted above.
