The **Cybersecurity Log Analyst** is responsible for manually reviewing, interpreting, and documenting findings from logs generated by disconnected networks and devices. This role is critical to identifying anomalies and maintaining situational awareness in environments where automation is not yet in place. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, thrives in focused, repetitive tasks, and is able to identify subtle indicators of abnormal activity. This position is essential in bridging current manual review processes with future automated solutions. **Responsibilities** + Manually collect and review logs from disconnected or air-gapped network and devices + Analyze log data to identify anomalies, indicators of compromise, or irregular patterns + Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and operations teams to correlate activity across different systems and build a complete picture of events or issues + Maintain detailed documentation of review processes, findings, and data handling procedures + Flag suspicious activity and escalate findings to cybersecurity and network teams for further investigation + Support efforts to standardize log formats and assist in developing templates for future automation + Participate in data normalization, log parsing, and improvement of manual review techniques + Communicate findings effectively through written summaries and charts tailored to technical audiences **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR + Associates degree with an additional 2+ years of relevant IT experience OR + High school diploma or GED equivalent with an additional 4+ years of directly related experience in lieu of degree + 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity or Network Engineering with 3+ years of experience in Log Analysis + Must hold a current DoD 8140 (or 8570) baseline certification at the IAT Level II or higher (e.g., CompTIA Security+) + Active TS/SCI clearance required **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Strong analytical and pattern recognition skills + Exceptional attention to detail and consistency in reviewing high volumes of logs + Familiarity with syslog, firewall, router, switch, and endpoint logs + Understanding of networking concepts and common indicators of compromise + Ability to work independently and stay focused through repetitive technical tasks + Basic familiarity with scripting or data parsing (e.g., Excel, regex, or Python) is a plus + Strong documentation and communication skills to support traceability and reporting + May require participation in meetings or briefings in person or via virtual platforms. + Ability to travel occasionally, as required by the client or project. + Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, printers, or meeting rooms. **How you’ll grow** At Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
