We are seeking a **Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist** to join our team in a remote capacity, preferably based in the **Eastern Time Zone** . This role is responsible for implementing and managing cybersecurity culture and awareness programs with a strong emphasis on combating social engineering threats and improving overall organizational resilience. The ideal candidate is passionate about cybersecurity and possesses a solid understanding of social engineering techniques, along with the ability to develop effective training materials and documentation. They will lead awareness initiatives, such as phishing simulations and targeted campaigns, to educate and engage employees at all levels of the organization. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role requires translating technical security concepts into clear, accessible messages tailored to diverse audiences. The Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist will also collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to reinforce best practices and continuously assess the impact of awareness efforts. We are looking to start immediately. Compensation ranges from $ **36.00 to $40.00 per hour** , depending on experience. **** **_Candidate must reside in Eastern Time Zone_** **Responsibilities** : **Social Engineering Campaigns** : + Design, execute, and manage phishing, vishing, and other social engineering campaigns to assess and enhance employee awareness and response to cybersecurity threats. + Analyze data and translate insights into clear, compelling presentations tailored for various audiences, including technical teams and executive stakeholders. **Training** : + Develop and deliver engaging cybersecurity awareness training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, and infographics. + Develop and manage champion programs to foster a culture of security awareness and extend security practices across engineering or business teams. + Collaborate with the training team to ensure alignment with overall cybersecurity training strategies when appropriate. **Policy and Procedure Development:** + Contribute to the development and updating of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring they reflect current threats and best practices. + Assist in the creation of awareness content that supports these policies and procedures. + Communication and Reporting: + Develop, curate, and disseminate security documentation, ensuring awareness amongst stakeholders and employees. + Prepare regular reports on the effectiveness of social engineering campaigns and awareness initiatives, presenting findings to management and stakeholders. + Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner. **Research and Stay Current** : + Stay up to date with the latest social engineering tactics, cybersecurity threats, and industry trends. + Participate in professional development opportunities, including conferences, workshops, and certifications. **EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE** : 1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information security, or communications or High School diploma with equivalent work experience. 2. 1-3 years’ experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on social engineering and awareness programs preferred. 3. Relevant certifications (e.g., Sans Security Awareness Professional, CompTIA Security +) are a plus. **Preferred Skills** : 1. Experience with cybersecurity awareness tools and platforms. 2. Develop, curate, and disseminate security documentation, ensuring awareness amongst stakeholders and employees. 3. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g. HIPAA, NIST, GDPR). 4.
