**Description** Tyto Athene is searching for a **Cybersecurity Analyst - Journeyman** to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida. The Journeyman Cybersecurity Analyst applies advanced knowledge and experience to assess and improve the security posture of enterprise systems, focusing on Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance and cyber resiliency. This position is responsible for assisting in the protection of networks boundaries, supporting the analysis of incidents and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems in accordance with DoD cybersecurity policies. **Responsibilities:** + Develops, reviews, and maintains comprehensive RMF documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages, while guiding system owners through all stages of the RMF lifecycle + Conducts in-depth evaluations of system vulnerabilities, formulates strategies to mitigate risks, and enhances resilience against evolving cyber threats + Performs detailed security assessments, audits, and vulnerability scans; analyzes incidents; monitors systems for potential threats; and delivers actionable reports on findings and compliance status + Collaborates with cross-functional teams, validates the integration of robust security measures and supports STIG implementation, vulnerability reviews, and endpoint analysis + Provides support with tools such as Splunk, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) systems enables effective threat detection and response, alongside operations and maintenance of cybersecurity capabilities. + Document security incidents and assist with response efforts under the guidance of senior analysts **Qualifications** **Required:** + Associate’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. + 4-9 years of relevant cybersecurity or IT experience + Expertise in threat hunting SIEM tools, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management. + Strong understanding of RMF, NIST 800-53, DoD STIGs, and security auditing **Desired:** + Bachelor’s degree in related field + Scripting or automation experience + Experience with DoD cybersecurity audits and inspections + Understanding of cloud security in DoD environments + CompTIA CySA+ Microsoft AZ-500 or SC-200 **Clearance:** + TS/SCI clearance required **Certification:** + DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role + CompTIA Security+ CE + CYSA+ System Security Certified Practitioner **About Tyto Athene** **Compensation:** + Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position.
