Job Description:
PRN, day shift - 7A-7P; 4 shifts every 8 week period
Open Heart Recovery/CVICU Unit - 2nd floor, 4002 Building
Cardiovascular Open Heart Recovery (CVR), is a seven-bed unit offering intensive recovery rooms and critical care services to the immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patient. The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), is a five-bed telemetry unit that provide intermediate care to cardiac surgery patients from pre-op care through post-op care up to discharge. Previous critical care or open-heart experience is recommended. BCLS and ACLS is/will be required.
Job Duties:
The ICU nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the patient. The ICU Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. ICU nurses must have strong critical thinking skills. The critical care nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s critical care journey.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience
Active Kentucky License
BCLS Required within 90 days of employment.
ACLS will be required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.
