OPERATIVE JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

JOB TITLE:                          CUT OFF OPERATOR      

 

DEPARTMENT:                  ROUGH FINISHING

 

PAY LEVEL:                         H05                                        

 

 

JOB FUNCTION:

 

The Cut-off Operator must be able to perform all operations and operate equipment efficiently.

 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Check all tags for proper identification

 

Remove test material and place in tray with mold tag for kevex check, run kevex unit when required

 

Stamp heat number on casting for identification, record lot control as required

 

Cut-off castings, trim excess gating

 

Lift and dump 30 gallon barrels containing molds

 

Visually inspect work for obvious defects

 

Record on a daily basis all work performed by operational codes

 

Keep work area clean, orderly and in a safe working condition, follow all safety rules

 

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

 

Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor

 

 

 

 

 

EDUCATION:

 

High school education.

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Three months OJT training.

 

 

INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY:

 

Normal initiative and ingenuity.

 

 

EFFORT:

 

Normal effort required.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, approximately 10-20 times per hour.  Use chain hoist for heavier weights.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

 

Responsible for self.  Make sure parts meet quality standards.  Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.

 

 

JOB CONDITIONS:

 

Dirty working conditions due to ceramic pieces and dust.
