Your mission, roles and responsibilities Your profile and competencies to succeedAs the Customs Specialist, you will serve as the primary resource for day-to-day activities associated with import/export compliance for Faurecia China business sites.
AS A CUSTOMS SPECIALIST, YOU WILL:
• Coordinate the business sites import and export activities and act as a liaison with sites on all import and export issues.
• Provide support to Procurement, Logistics, Marketing, Research & Development, Finance, and other functional areas to ensure proper classification, valuation, COO analysis, etc.
• Carry out the import & export clearance with the support of customs brokers.
• Provide support to business sites on royalty fee declaration and other assistance fee declaration.
• Support trade compliance manager to carry out customs internal audit.
• Support to manage the customs service providers, i.e. customs brokers, consulting firms, customs software suppliers etc.
• Provide support for import and export digitalization projects, i.e. utilization of customs related software.
• Assign, document and maintain HS codes to new and existing items.
• Assist with certificate/license applications, including 3C, FTA, Dual-Use Export License, etc.
• Develop, implement, monitor and update written procedures to ensure imports and exports comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide training on customs regulations and technical skills to compliance users as needed.
• Develop innovative strategies to minimize import and export costs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in foreign trade, import/export, supply chain.
• Minimum five (5) years of customs related experience, including minimum two (2) years of hands-on trade compliance experience.
• Qualification on HS classification will be a big plus.
• Knowledge on SAP and preferable SAP-GTS (or other customs related software)
• Management experience of 3rd parties, i.e. customs broker etc.
• Ability to create, review and adhere to internal Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to demonstrate strong professional interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work under pressure in a conscientious and organized manner.
• Attention to detail is critical.
• Fluent English communication with global customs team and other business teams.
