Position overview:

 

Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, our future Customs Coordinator will have as main missions ensuring compliance with all customs regulations in Morocco for Lear Meknes, in close collaboration with the customs country manager and corporate customs department. He/she will be the subject matter expert for all customs topics of Lear Meknes with the different stakeholders (internal functions, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and external official departments.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

Ensure execution of a correct discharge process in alignment with the actual consumption, including scrap, and packaging Ensure alignment between import/export and discharge declarations Secure the customs inventory is aligned with the actual plant inventory. Monitor EIF accounts and report any relevant anomalies Optimize the scrap declaration, reconciliation, and evacuation process Achieve alignment of customs classification between the customs broker and the plant´s database. Execute and improve an equipment control process (registration, labeling, relocation control) Renew all relevant certifications and authorizations (eg. EIF extension, approved exporter, bank guaranty exoneration, insurance certificates, certificate of conformity...) Determine (and update) preferential origin of the goods prior shipment & act as a central point of contact for solicitation of documentation, calculation and certification. Maintain the preferential process at all levels (solicitation, calculation, and certification) during any  BOM’s update , or changes on the certifications; Ensure retrospective preferential origin claims as applicable. Ensure recovery of any customs duties or VAT Reconcile on monthly basis the toll manufacturing fees invoiced by finance and declared for customs purposes Create process documentation for all customs processes at the plant. Achieve full archiving of relevant customs documentation. Coordinate a team of customs resources (2 heads) Control the customs declarations submitted by the customs broker to ensure they are correct and aligned with customs program of Lear Meknes Liaise with site staff / freight forwarder / broker to resolve any issues and expedite import / export Customs clearance. Define and follow the customs Key Performance indicators.

 

 

 

Key skills and Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's/master’s degree in international business, Logistics or Operational Management or related field or - extensive experience in International Trade and Customs or Customs consulting. Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, ideally as an employee of the customs authority, a customs agency or as a customs consultant. Previous experience on managing. Ability to demonstrate Logical, Structured, Proactive and Objective approach. Ability to maintain the compliance policy of the department, and the company. Knowledge of European import/export regimes would be beneficial. Previous experience in a multinational company would be beneficial Proficiency in both English & French languages, spoken and written
