Customs and Logistics Analyst

In Ireland, Abbott currently employs about 6,000 people across ten sites located in Dublin, Donegal, Clonmel, Cootehill, Galway, Kilkenny, Longford and Sligo. **Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny** Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems. **Main purpose of the role** + Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in the specific area. + Ability to execute highly complex or specialized work. + Ensuring customs compliance for international shipments. + Evaluation and delivery of logistics strategies for domestic and international freight. **Main Responsibilities** + Analysing shipping requirements and selection of most appropriate mode of transportation + Interpretation of customs regulations and ensuring compliance for international imports + Reviewing tariff classifications, trade agreements and import/export documentation + Communicate with customs authorities and brokers in relation to customs clearance. + Creating weekly transportation and customs reports. + Sign off and confirmation for logistics/transportation invoices. + Utilising data analysis to identify cost saving initiatives in logistics. + Work closely with the warehouse to ensure delivery schedules are adhered to. + Monitor and evaluate performance of logistics partners. **Qualifications & Experience** + Minimum Level 7 NFQ qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline. + Minimum 3 years experience in a calibration/metrology role in the medical / pharmaceutical industry. + Experience managing customs documentation. + Strong knowledge of customs procedures. + Experience managing relationships with external logistics partners. + SAP experience an advantage. **What we Offer** Attractive compensation package that includes competitive pay, as well as benefits such as + Family health insurance + Excellent pension scheme + Life assurance + Career Development + Fantastic new facility + Growing business plus access to many more benefits.
