Customer Service Representative
Description Customer Billing Representative We are looking for a skilled Customer Billing Representative to join our team in Aurora, Colorado. This is a 100% in-office position in Aurora, CO. This contract position requires a proactive individual with strong customer service abilities and a background in billing or accounts payable. The role focuses on providing accurate, courteous assistance to customers while managing billing processes efficiently. Responsibilities: • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and educating customers on billing processes. • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, applying critical thinking to identify root causes and propose solutions. • Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure system efficiency. • Process customer refunds, credit adjustments, and leak adjustment requests while maintaining accurate account records. • Generate and review late fees and shut-off notices, creating work orders for field representatives as needed. • Handle contractor billing processes, including meter check-outs, usage tracking, and accountability. • Coordinate with internal departments to provide accurate billing data and water revenue information. • Approve and manage customer payment arrangements, ensuring adherence to agreed terms. • Execute billing cycles for residential and commercial accounts, including large-scale operations. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to refine departmental policies and procedures. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years' experience in customer service with exposure to billing or accounts payable • Proficiency in handling inbound and outbound calls, order entry, and customer invoice management. • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools. • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data effectively. • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with a detail-oriented and diplomatic approach. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive demeanor under pressure. • Demonstrated ability to foster productive relationships with colleagues, vendors, and customers.
