Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team in Troy, Michigan. This is a Contract-to-permanent position that offers the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate. In this role, you will provide exceptional support to customers by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and offering accurate information about healthcare services and benefits. While the position is primarily remote, occasional in-office work is required.
Responsibilities:
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely and effective communication.
• Provide detailed information about healthcare benefits, claim statuses, provider options, and pre-authorization processes.
• Utilize tracking systems to document all customer interactions and maintain accurate records.
• Stay informed about updates to healthcare plans and communicate changes effectively to customers.
• Resolve customer concerns or escalate complex issues to supervisors as needed.
• Grant pre-authorizations for medical services in accordance with coverage policies.
• Advise customers on co-payment responsibilities and assist with payment inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal policies during all interactions.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve customer satisfaction. Requirements • Previous experience in customer service, ideally in a healthcare or call center setting.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnosis codes, and healthcare-related systems.
• Proficiency in computer usage, including Microsoft Outlook, with strong typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with active listening skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain composure in challenging interactions.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in healthcare customer service (1-3 years).
