Description
We are looking for a dedicated and responsive Customer Service Representative to join our team in Troy, Michigan. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate. In this role, you will primarily work remotely but may occasionally be required to report to the office if you are local. As part of our call center team, you will address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide accurate information related to healthcare benefits, claims, and provider services. Success in this position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
• Utilize internal systems to track, gather information, and troubleshoot customer concerns.
• Document all customer interactions and maintain accurate call logs in the computer system.
• Stay informed about updates and changes to healthcare plans and policies.
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email in a timely and courteous manner.
• Furnish members and healthcare providers with detailed information regarding benefits, claims, and pre-authorizations.
• Process pre-authorizations for medical treatments and advise customers on co-payment requirements.
• Assist customers in locating network providers and understanding coverage details.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to management when necessary.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and follow standard precautions when using personal protective equipment.
Requirements • Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnosis codes, and healthcare systems is required.
• Previous experience in customer service, ideally within a healthcare or call center setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and computer systems, including strong typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully.
• Strong listening skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and focused when dealing with irate or anxious customers.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Associate’s Degree is preferred, but 1-3 years of healthcare customer service experience in a call center may be substituted. TalentMatch®
