Wabtec – Motive Equipment (MEI) produces cab comfort products for locomotives.  We are ISO9001 certified and firmly committed to continually providing consistently high levels of quality and reliability, competitive products, to meet or exceed Wabtec customer expectations in a timely manner and continually improving the effectiveness of the quality management system.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Motive Equipment location of Wabtec, you will be responsible for the customer service functions of the site. The Customer Service Representative reports directly to the Director of Operations. The Director ensures compliance with Wabtec’s quality standards, while working efficiently and effectively within a lean environment, and is instrumental in maintaining a level of customer satisfaction.

What do we want to know about you?

High School Diploma or GED required.Associates degree in related or business field preferredMinimum of three (3) years of experience in customer serviceRequires a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP systems.Ability to work effectively unsupervised.Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.Basic math skillsUtilize software, such as Oracle, and various website-based programs customer (supplier) portals

What will your typical day look like?

Process customer orders, quotes, RMA’s, and customer change ordersEstablish-maintain positive and productive working relationships with customers.Maintain customer data base, contact lists, and correspondence records.Provide accurate and timely order status updates to customers and production.Resolve customer inquiries, problems, and complaints regarding products and services.Maintain collections on accounts receivables for applicable customers.Perform other minor administrative functions as assigned.Other duties as assigned.

What about the physical demands of the job?

Employee is regularly required to:Hear.Read, write, and communicate in English.Sit 6 hours at a time, with minimal breaks.Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds independently or up to 25 pounds with assistance.Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.Employee is required to wear hearing protection in designated areas.The Position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.Requires daily face-to-face interaction and communication with employees on production line and management.

Work Environment: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.)

The employee will normally work in a controlled office environment and occasionally on the production shop floor that does not have controlled temperatures and will vary based on weather conditions. May occasionally be exposed to fumes and minimal to moderate noise.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $22.00-23.00 per hour

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
