Location

The US Customer Quality Manager, Semiconductor Materials is a United States based position with the ideal location in Tempe, AZ.  Other EMD Electronics offices and/or locations with close proximity to US based customer locations may be considered.  Approximately 20% domestic and internation travel will be required for this role.

 

Your Role:

As the US Customer Quality Manager, Semiconductor Materials, you will drive Customer Quality engagement for our U.S. and select global strategic customers across all business sectors in the Electronics division. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Account Teams to nurture customer relationships and deliver exceptional performance and results. You will serve as the vital communication bridge between EMD Electronics and our customers, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed while advancing their technology. Additionally, you will represent the Voice of the Customer for Quality to internal stakeholders, playing a crucial role in aligning our services with customer expectations and fostering long-term partnerships.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Electronics Customer Quality Roadmaps.Lead and manage the successful completion of Customer Quality Initiatives and Programs across EMD Electronics businesses.Be the owner of customer engagement between EMD Electronics and customers for Quality issues.Lead and drive customer taskforces to ensure customer trust in EMD Electronics performance and Quality.Be a key stakeholder in the troubleshooting and problem solving of Customer Quality Issues. Review and approve 8D reports with high power factor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Manage Customer Quality Inquiries with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely responses.Facilitate Customer Quality Audits to drive preparation, enhance performance, and ensure follow-up and closure.

 

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or other related discipline with 8+ years of chemical or electronics manufacturing experience in technical, quality or commercial areas.

OR

Masters Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or other related discipline with 6+ years of chemical or electronics manufacturing experience in technical, quality or commercial areas.5+ years of successful Customer Engagement in the semiconductor industry or similar large scale production industry.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills (English) – oral and written.Ability to collaborate with people from various backgrounds/cultures/functions in a highly matrixed global organization.Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities, projects, and demands independently.Semiconductor fab experienceCommercial negotiation experienceModerate to advanced Statistical knowledge (SPC, t-test, ANOVA, single and multivariate statistical modelling)Proficient with data science/statistical software including JMP, Palantir Foundry, Python, and/or visualization tools such as Tableau.Experience with process improvement, data automation, and data digitization.Demonstrated experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma projects or in data-driven process optimization projects.Experience in Quality tools for problem solving (5 Why, Model Based Problem Solving), FMEAs, Continuous Improvement (CI) activities, Management of Change (MOC), and Document Control systems.Experience with ISO9001 Quality Management SystemsISO9001 or IATF 16949 Internal Auditor CertificationSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certificationSAP experience
