Job Description
The Customer Quality Engineer will be instrumental in working with Honda portals. This role involves leading Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) initiatives for new programs across a designated customer group, primarily focusing on Honda. The engineer will support both QA staff and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with IATF16949 standards, conduct system audits for compliance verification, and enhance quality processes by interacting with internal departments and suppliers. Additionally, the engineer will review supplier parts and documentation for PPAP approval.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare PPAP documentation and manage customer correspondence.Evaluate requests and verify corrective actions for both internal and external issues.Lead Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) initiatives for new programs.Conduct system audits to verify compliance with quality standards.Review supplier parts and documentation for PPAP approval.Support QA staff and manufacturing teams, ensuring alignment with IATF16949 standards.Essential Skills3+ years of experience in automotive quality engineering.Experience working directly with Honda as a customer.Proficient in quality systems, specifically IATF standards.Experience with PPAPs, APQP, and statistical process control.Strong problem-solving abilities using methods such as fish-bone analysis, 5W, and 8D.Bachelor's degree in quality or engineering field or 5+ years of relevant experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a fast-paced environment.Background in organizations with a strong culture of continuous improvement.Experience working with Plex systems.Work Environment
The engineer will report to the quality manager and work closely with several other quality engineers while collaborating with various departments. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience as a quality engineer in the automotive industry and work closely with an OEM. The position is part of a growing company with ten manufacturing facilities across the United States, Mexico, and Brazil, and operates under three divisions in the U.S.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Litchfield, Michigan.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.06 - $38.46/hr.
