Custodian The Ocean County Utilities Authority, a public wastewater treatment facility consisting of three treatment plants and 40 pumping stations, is presently accepting applications for the position of Custodian. The position is located in Brick, NJ. The Custodian performs a variety of tasks involved in the cleaning and maintenance of all Authority offices, furniture, equipment, restrooms, lunchrooms and other areas of buildings and grounds. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. At least three (3) years’ experience working as a custodian or cleaning person in a commercial or industrial setting is required. Must be able to understand and follow directions, learn and apply cleaning procedures and to work without continuous supervision. Individuals in these positions must be attentive to building and facility conditions and strive to maintain a high standard of appearance and cleanliness. Tasks performed are mildly to moderately strenuous and by nature of the equipment and materials used, necessitate the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to approximately fifty (50) pounds. It is required that the applicant possess a valid New Jersey Drivers License. Some driving may be necessary. The custodian will receive mandatory instruction in spill clean-up and preventing disease transmission through Bloodborne Pathogens Training.
