Job Description
Join our team as a Custodial Worker on the 2nd shift, from 3pm to 11:30pm, where you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and attractive environment. This role involves performing repetitive housekeeping tasks in common areas, offices, clinics, and bathrooms, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the premises while respecting occupied patient rooms.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain a cleaning cart in an orderly condition, ensuring it is fully stocked with required cleaning supplies.Ensure cleaning solutions are never left unattended.Remove all waste including regular rubbish, cardboard, recycled paper, and hazardous materials.Use appropriate chemicals and tools to dust and damp disinfect floors, including corners and baseboards.Post 'Wet Floor' signs when mopping floors.Essential SkillsAt least 1 year of janitorial or Environmental Services (EVS) experience.Ability to read simple instructions and write and speak basic English or Spanish.Capability to operate simple mechanical devices such as floor rotos, vacuums, compactors, etc.Familiarity with the operation of heavy-duty electrical cleaning equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBonus for hospital experience, though not required.Ability to interact with hospital staff, visitors, and patients in a friendly, cooperative manner.Customer service skills.General labor and chemical handling expertise.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a 280,000 square foot hospital with 174 beds, engaging in standing, walking, bending, and stretching for the majority of the shift. You will need to push heavy loaded carts and lift between 30-60 lbs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melrose, Massachusetts
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
