GENERAL PURPOSE Under direction, ­­­­­plans, schedules, assigns, supervises and participates in the work of custodial services; inspects ongoing sanitation of District building and facilities for completion and quality of custodial services; maintains inventory and orders custodial supplies and equipment; arranges and oversees furniture, equipment, supplies and material moves, and setup and breakdown for regular and special events; performs related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Graduation from high school or an accredited training program in custodial services and at least two years of responsible custodial experience, including one year of lead or supervisory experience; or An equivalent combination of training and experience. Licenses, Certificates and Other Requirements: A demonstrated commitment to equity-minded practices in support of the diverse academic, socio­economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, college staff, and community members. A valid California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s vehicle insurance program Forklift certification must be acquired within 60 days of employment or promotion.

Comments and Other Information CLASSIFICATION CATEGORY & RETIREMENT PLAN The Custodial Services Supervisor is a non-represented, Classified Supervisory position, in compliance with all applicable sections of the California Education Code and related statutes. Supervisory employees are also members of the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), to which the member contributes up to 8% of their reportable compensation on a monthly basis. SELECTION PROCESS Applications must include the documents listed in the Required Documents section to be rendered complete; incomplete applications will not be accepted. Screening will begin after the priority screening date. Applicants selected to interview will be contacted to schedule an interview appointment with the screening committee; however, applicants will be notified of their status, either way, following the screening.
