**Custom Job Purpose:**
This position exists to focus on student learning by providing support and assistance to teachers and | school-based administration for accelerated programs. Provides extensive, responsible leadership for accelerated programs, including dual enrollment, advanced placement, International Baccalaureate, and ACCEL programs for K-12 students, facilitating procurement of instructional materials and course requests, liaison for school district with College Board and local universities and colleges, and analysis of program and school performance on assessments/exams.
**Essential Functions of this Job**
* Collaborates with Senior Directors, Curriculum Specialists, district and school-based coaches, school-based administrators and teachers to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of accelerated and/or magnet programs.
* Assists in the design, development, implementation, and delivery of training and support to magnet schools and/or schools that offer accelerated programs.
* Provides leadership for communicating, planning, organizing, and training schools to enhance teacher performance and increase student achievement in accelerated and/or magnet programs.
* Responsible for identifying areas of program strengths and weaknesses and recommending programmatic revisions based on teacher and student performance.
* Supervises, coordinates, analyzes, and monitors the district K-12 accelerated programs and/or magnet programs and |the overall function of the program through ongoing site visits as part of regular evaluation of accelerated programs.
* Assists in the selection of dual enrollment and advanced placement materials for accelerated programs.
* Prepares and administers budget for teacher training, equipment purchases, supplies, and teacher bonuses for advanced placement and International Baccalaureate.
* Collaborates with the K-12 Content Specialists to plan, deliver, and evaluate teacher professional learning opportunities.
* Assists with the identification and recruitment of students into K-12 accelerated programs and/or magnet programs.
* Assists with teacher recruitment and placement in schools.
* Responsible for communicating state statutes, Department of Education (DOE) updates, district procedures, and test report analysis, including interpreting and monitoring federal, state, and local requirements to successfully implement accelerated programs.
* Represents the district at appropriate state meetings.
* Plans, coordinates, and expands efforts that support high quality integrative STEM education for all levels.
* Facilitates District Dual Enrollment Committee meetings and development of articulation agreements.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
* Considerable knowledge of the magnet, dual enrollment, advanced placement, and International Baccalaureate processes and requirements, including placement into accelerated courses, and required deliverables to outside agencies.
* Effectively present and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, parents, and the community.
* Knowledge of national, state, and district educational goals. Knowledge of research and best practices related to accelerated and magnet programs, including Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) integration.
* Knowledge of program planning, curriculum development, and test report interpretation. Ability to analyze data.
* Extensive interpersonal skills, ability to relate to others and facilitate groups, and to communicate effectively with teachers, school personnel, community agencies, and parents.
* Manages time effectively.
* Bilingual/biliterate preferred.
**Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements**
* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in STEM-related field, English language arts, mathematics, social studies, and/or science education, |or education leadership required.
* Considerable experience in curriculum development and teacher training.
* Minimum of five (5) years' successful teaching experience at the elementary and/or secondary level, specifically STEM integration into teaching and extensive experience using technology in the classroom required.
* Certification in elementary and/or secondary core content area (ELA, mathematics, science, and/or social studies) * Demonstrate knowledge of STEM research, STEM instruction, and the ability to integrate STEM practices into content area instruction;
* Demonstrate the ability to manage and interpret data;
* Have successful experience in leadership skills and working with adult learners; and
* Demonstrate strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and time management skills.
**Work Context:**
Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones, and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.
**Physical Environment:**
Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting and moving about for the majority of the day, and Page 3 of 3 the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects frequently weighing up to 20 pounds and infrequently weighing more than 20 pounds. May requires travel to work locations and schools within the district.
