Overview This position is physically located in Balad, Iraq The Cultural Advisor, Host Nation Liaison is responsible for assisting the Program and, when requested, the USG with visa’s, work permits, cultural and linguistic expertise in exchanges with host nation officials, ministries, military, government, police and persons. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Supervises all linguistic operations during contingency surge Provides host nation cultural and linguistic support for all exchanges with host nation entities in support of the program Provide translating services in support of the resolution of various issues. Works with Supply Chain, upon request, providing cultural and linguistic support in support of leases and contracts. Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing in English and host country language(s). Responsible for processing necessary work visa’s and permits for American Nationals assigned to Iraq. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Bachelors Degree or higher in Business Administration or Public Affairs Experience: Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing in a similar environment Must possess a high degree of both English and host country language(s)' comprehension, including speaking, understanding, reading, writing and typing Must possess a high degree of knowledge and competency with regards to local customs, culture, laws and exchanges in Iraq. Skills: Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Interpersonal and communication skills are requirements of this position as there is constant interaction with program management Must be detailed oriented and organized Must have a host country Driver’s License to operate a motor vehicle Supervisory/Budget Responsibilities: May supervise V2X Host Nation cell and linguist employees with a high degree of competency Working Environment: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. Physical Requirements: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
