Culinary Event Ops Specialist
A client of Insight Global based in Long Island City, NY is looking to hire on two Culinary Event Ops Specialist to join their boutique, full-service culinary and event design team before their Fall 2025 season. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals passionate about hospitality and events who want hands-on experience in event planning, production, and internal operations. This is an admin-heavy role with opportunities to observe and support high-profile events from planning through on-site execution. Strong performers may be considered for full-time opportunities. As a Culinary Event Operations Specialist, here is a what your days could look like as it will blend structured administrative work with dynamic event support:
- Morning:
o Review the event calendar and update project trackers with any overnight changes
o Organize client files, update menus, and ensure timelines are accurate
o Label and prepare materials for upcoming events (menus, signage, packaging)
- Midday:
o Join a planning call with producers and account managers to review event details
o Assist with vendor coordination by confirming deliveries and updating contact sheets
o Input client preferences and event specs into internal systems for easy reference
- Afternoon:
o Prepare documentation for upcoming tastings or production meetings
o Support the culinary team by labeling ingredients or organizing kitchen prep lists
o Track inventory for décor and event supplies, flagging any shortages
- Event Days:
o Arrive on-site early to assist with setup—placing menus, organizing stations, and ensuring timelines are followed
o Shadow producers during live events to learn about client interaction and real-time problem-solving
o Help with breakdown and post-event documentation to capture lessons learned

- Hours of work: Monday - Friday 10:00am to 6:00 PM (Must be flexible due to nature of the business which means a potential for overtime.)
