Job Description:

Provides nutrition services to patients utilizing standardized guidelines. This position interacts with clinical caregivers, patients, and patient’s family members to explain the meal process and modify meal selections according to provider orders.

The Culinary Diet Technician position is worked as either a Bedside position or an Expeditor position. See the differences in day-to-day responsibilities & work schedules below:

Bedside Position

Expeditor Position

Expeditor PositionAvailability Needed: Sunday-Saturday 5:00am-8:30pmWork Shift: 4 hour, 6 hour & 8 hour shiftsEnsuring communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, getting the status on dishes, and calling room service staff to deliver traysInforming the room service staff when certain dishes or ingredients have run out and passing food requests from the call center to room serviceEnsuring that all orders are completed in time and with the correct priorityKeeping the storage and prep areas clean, neat, and well-stockedEnsuring all staff adheres to health and safety standardsHandling complaints and looking for solutionsEnsures the efficient flow of ordersEnsure orders are being prepared with the correct priorityAssist in the final preparation of dishesCheck dishes before delivery for accuracy and presentationInspect and maintain sanitation standardsTransfer important information between the kitchen and room service staffFood prep as neededSupport other tasks as needed
