CT Technologist Wknd

Responsibilities
Able to perform all CT exams within scope of practice, capable of obtaining quality radiographs of all body parts using proper exposure, markers, and shielding, and knows how to use portable x-ray machines and c-arms.Instructs and educates patient regarding the ordered test and prepares the patient for the procedureAble to use CR reader, erase CR cassettes, send images from CR reader, and perform image manipulation as necessary.Able to access PACS, review studies, and perform basic functions for image manipulations.  Resolve QA issues, close studies as reviewed, burn CD’s, transfer images, and print from PACS.Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate formsMaintains order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the departmentPractices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policiesUtilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

Graduate of an accredited college or technical school for Radiologic Technology

Required Licensure and Certifications

Registered Technologist Radiography (RTR), required.Medical Radiographer (MRAD): North Dakota, required.American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card, BLS-CPR.Within 30 days of start.Registered Technologist Computed Tomography (RTCT)Within 18 months of start.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

Strong oral communications skillsAbility to deal with conflict and difficult peopleStrong critical thinking skillsKnowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processesAbility to manage multiple prioritiesMinimum of 12 months of experience as a Radiologic TechnologistCE Continuing Education qualifications for CT

Overview

As our CT Tech at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson,  you will help capture usable diagnostic images from patients so the Radiologist can accurately diagnose and/or rule out different conditions. 

Every day you’ll create cross-section images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. You'll perform a variety of specialized technical tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment to assist the radiologist in the detection of anatomical abnormalities. You will also need to enjoy working directly with people as you play a huge role in the patient experience.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes knowledge of the general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and capturing clear results for timely and accurate diagnosis.
