The role youll contribute:
Under general supervision, the CT Technologist/Coordinator is responsible for patient procedure throughput including the daily coordination of CT workflow for Outpatients (OP), Inpatients (IP), and the Emergency Department (ED) across all scanners. This position research information necessary to ensure the exam is accurately ordered with no contradiction to the patient and communicates with nursing departments to expedite CT procedures as needed. The CT Technologist/Coordinator oversees specialty exam scheduling, facilitates the scheduling of any additional imaging requested by the Radiologist, and assists Centralized Scheduling with general CT scheduling questions. This position is responsible for updating nursing units and recovery units on the status of patient exams. The CT Technologist Coordinator scans patients as workflow requires following age specific guidelines while implementing the principles of the facility. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Research patient history prior to sending for patient to ensure exam is accurately performed. Contact the unit of nurses or physicians if order clarification or correction is required. Verifies laboratory results as well as facilitates the completion of all exams in as little time as possible. Keeps workflow moving and minimizes empty table time.
Fields call for add-on exams and provide direction and assistance to centralized schedulers, physician offices and patients.
Manages and logs all daily CT phantom checks as required by the CT vendor and ACR.
Uses facility policy for proper identification of patient prior to performing exam. Educate patients concerning exams. Request work and service orders for broken equipment.
When notified by the Radiologist, reviews exams to ensure all images and documentation are available. Facilitates the scheduling of any additional imaging requested by the Radiologist.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Associate degree or technical degree in a related field.
Two years of CT experience.
Completion of Radiologic Technology training and A.R.R.T.(R) registration.
Computed Tomography A.R.R.T. (CT) certification.
General Radiographer license as required by state if applicable.
