Position Summary:

The CSVA Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training and management of the Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate volunteer staff to provide 24-hour accompaniments and advocacy services to victims of sexual violence. The CSVA Coordinator reports directly to the Program Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide training and education to new and existing volunteers and staff- 40-hours for Sexual Violence Advocacy. Ensure hotline schedule is covered by calling volunteers and soliciting their services to assist sexual assault violence victims Provide 24-hour back up for hotline calls & accompaniments to address problems with activations Provide trainings to law enforcement, health care professionals, and SART team members Market SERV program and volunteer opportunities throughout County. Facilitate monthly Volunteer meetings Interview potential volunteers, complete reference checks on volunteers, maintain volunteer files, and submit volunteer stipend to finance. Complete program statistic forms pertaining to volunteer hours and services provided to victims for advocate certification Attend County SART meetings, NJCASA meetings, and community meetings Prepare training outlines, secure speakers; manage database, applications, and organize training materials Carry out other tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor to ensure success of SERV program

Requirements: 

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Criminal Justice or Human Services is preferred. Experience may substitute for education on a year to year basis.Experience working with people, especially on a one-to-one basis, demonstrate sensitivity toward the needs of victims, and to be able to provide training and education to new and existing volunteers and staff.  Effective verbal and written communication skills and public speaking is required.The CSVA Coordinator must successfully complete 40 hours of the New Jersey State Confidential Sexual Violence Advocacy Training provided by Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV).Current driver's license with a driving record of at least three yearsVehicle with current insurance and registration
