Job Description
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional technical support and customer service? Grundfos, a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technology, is looking for an Application Engineer to join our Customer Sales & Support Center (CSSC) Back Office team in a hybrid role based out of our Oakville, Ontario office.
**What is the job about?**
As an Application Engineer at Grundfos, you will play a key role in supporting our CSSC Back Office team by delivering timely and effective technical assistance to customer inquiries. You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and expert guidance on our products and services throughout the entire customer journey—before, during, and after transactions.
Your work will involve preparing accurate technical quotations, applying established procedures and guidelines, and ensuring a seamless and professional customer experience. By combining your technical expertise with a strong commitment to service excellence, you will help maintain and strengthen long-term customer relationships, contributing to Grundfos’ reputation for world-class support.
**Your main responsibilities:**
+ Provide commercial and technical support to customers, including product sizing, application guidance, system solutions, and pricing to ensure practical and effective solutions.
+ Support the sales team by managing tenders and projects, offering detailed specifications, calculations, and delivery timelines.
+ Coordinate and administer medium to high-complexity project proposals from initial approval through bid submission, including customer negotiations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
+ Deliver first-contact resolution for customer inquiries and determine appropriate next steps based on established processes and service level agreements.
+ Troubleshoot pumping systems and provide technical assistance to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
+ Process special orders and coordinate with suppliers to meet unique customer requirements.
+ Promote and guide customers in the use of digital tools such as GPC, GXS, MyGrundfos, Extranet, and Chat to enhance their experience.
+ Collaborate with product segments and suppliers to resolve complex issues and support continuous improvement in customer service.
**Your background**
We imagine that you have:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience (3–5 years in a similar technical role).
+ Solid experience in estimating, opportunity and quotation management, preferably within Pumps, HVAC, Engineered-to-Order, or Building Management Systems.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP (CRM/SD).
+ Strong understanding of product and application fundamentals, including the ability to interpret type keys and differentiate between components.
+ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
+ Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
+ Customer service experience with strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
+ Fluency in English (written and spoken); French is considered an asset.
