CTG is seeking to fill a CSS Billing & Finance Mainframe Specialist opening for our client in New York. Location: Remote Duration: 7 months+ contract Duties: • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Billing and Finance functions within the CSS (Customer Support System) environment • Analyze, maintain, and improve billing and financial systems and workflows, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, finance, and customer service to support business needs and identify areas for improvement • Provide expertise on MF COBOL and Customer/1 platforms, including troubleshooting, enhancements, and configuration • Participate in testing, validation, and implementation of system changes • Document procedures, develop user training, and support transition to updated financial systems or processes Skills: • Strong expertise in CSS Billing & Finance processes • Proficiency with MF COBOL and Customer/1 • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment • Strong documentation and process improvement capabilities Experience: • Minimum 5 years of experience in billing and finance operations, with at least 2 years in a SME capacity • Hands-on experience with MF COBOL and Customer/1 in a billing or finance-related role • Experience working in regulated environments or with utility clients is a plus Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
