CS Lead Respiratory Care

The CS Lead provides managerial and clinical leadership to the staff of the Respiratory Therapy Department within a designated specialty area while performing the duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist. **A caregiver in this position works nights 7:00PM - 7:00AM, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the respiratory staff as designated by departmental management + Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and acts as a resource person for staff + Assign therapist workload and adjusts staffing based on patient volume + Participate in continuous quality improvement, projects and in-services + Provide feedback on staff performance + Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols + Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team. + Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs. + At sites where applicable, the employee will perform blood gas puncture and analysis. + If the employee is designated as a Technical Consultant by the blood gas Laboratory Director, the employee must meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations. + Perform duties outlined in the Respiratory Therapist job descriptions and participates as part of the assigned therapist workload and all duties as appropriate Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Associate's Degree + Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy + Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC + State of Florida Department of Health License Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) + Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications through American Heart Association (AHA) + Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) and/or certified as a Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) + Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Heart Association (AHA) within six months of hire + Three years of experience in Respiratory Therapy including critical care or a specialty environment is required OR must possess a Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in Respiratory Therapy including critical care or a specialty environment.
