KBR is seeking a motivated and experienced Crypto SME to join our team in El Segundo, CA.

KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract. By applying to this position, you are in consideration for KBR employment; however, you also have the option to be hired by one of our subcontractor teammates.

The MSEIT effort provides leading-edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the United States Space Force’s (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC). We acquire state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. Key Responsibilities:

Provide the technical leadership for the ESS Program Office in the deliveries of space and ground cryptographic units to support the Space, and Ground segmentsLead the trade for spacecraft cryptographic unit selection.  Considerate about requirements, interfaces, environments and testingEnsure the technical design and interfaces, development and deliveries for the space payload encryption units in terms of hardware and firmwareEnsure the technical design and interfaces, development and deliveries for the ground encryption units in terms of hardware and firmwareSupport all encryption unit successfully complete the required test program.  Develop test documentations, e.g. test plan and reports as necessaryEnsure space cryptographic units survive space environments through qualification testingProvide supplementary PKMA (Protected Key Management Architecture) activities as necessaryBuilding and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with various government customer organizations, contractors, and FFRDC teammates

Qualifications;

Required:

An active TS/SCI is required for this positionBS in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science15 years’ experience with Crypto/PKMA or Master’s degree and 12 years’ experienceMilitary or DOD or IC space and ground experience requiredSpace systems engineering experience desired at the unit, subsystem, or spacecraft levelsRequirement to work on site at LAAFB 100%. Remote work unavailableApproximately 20% travel within Southern California and Maryland

Basic Compensation:  $192,000 to $215,000 in California

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
