Advisory for Government and Public Services Advises Government and Public Services organisations on enterprise strategies to maximising their investment in technology, improve services and drive operational efficiency through effective operational structure and delivery models. About you As someone who has over 20 years' experience consulting to public organizations you are considered an expert and advocate by your peers and colleagues, alongside this you are passionate about using technology to modernise government operations while improving citizen services. You understand the public sector political environment, parliamentary & budget processes and have trusted networks across government and industry stakeholders. You think creatively and critically, collaborating across business units to translate business challenges into actionable strategies. Your expertise will be pivotal in shaping our client relationships and driving key projects to successful completion, positively improving the agencies we work with while directly contributing to Avanade's growth and success. About the job As the Advisory lead for Government and Public Services, you encourage and inspire consideration, collaboration and communication at the highest levels. Ideally located in Brisbane or Sydney. You play an integral role in shaping your team's strategy and our future operations - providing industry insights to evolve our Advisory services to ensuring our work provides a real impact on achieving organisational objectives, always taking into account business strategy, guiding principles and current realities You have demonstrated experience in advocacy, engagement & strategic communication strategies and stakeholder management. In this role, you will: * Lead engagements at CIO level to assess technology, applications, processes and capabilities to drive strategies with full stakeholder acceptance. * Lead and provide strategic direction to large and complex programs to translate high-level strategy into operational objectives built around current realities and regulatory requirements * Facilitate CIO level discussions that examine the challenges of complex business, operations and technology * Manage processes and teams, including budgets, and guide the professional development of less experienced team members * Act as coach and mentor to your clients and your team as they develop their own consulting skills * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of advocacy efforts with the broader strategic planning objectives. * Prepare advice, briefing papers and presentations. * Support engagement with government agencies and building strategic relationships with policymakers at all levels. * Travel as required. Your skills You can translate strategic direction into operational goals in complex organisations. You can explain your insight into a business model to anyone, and you use your extensive experience in IT transformation strategy to give technical advice to senior executives. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills across highly complex problems, often requiring analysis of near-intangible factors, creative solutioning and significant networking. You are likely to have an MBA, PhD or equivalent degree, plus at least 10 years of experience in IT and digital transformation strategy, architecture and operating models in public service or consulting to government clients. Your skills and experience include: * Strong written and oral communication skills * Critical and creative thinking across highly complex business problems * Thorough understanding of research and discovery techniques * Advanced analytical skills in analysing, disseminating and interpreting business models * Extensive experience in IT transformation strategy, architecture and operating models including a comprehensive understanding of current cloud, datacentre, and IT infrastructure and applications * Detailed road mapping, cost modelling and planning agile, customer-centred and design-led transformations * Operational knowledge of one or more verticals within public sector organisations * People leadership, coaching, recruiting and career management * Practice management, resource management, developing new services, skills and offerings * Commercial acumen, managing the financial performance of projects We work hard to provide an inclusive, diverse culture with a deep sense of belonging for all our employees.
