Description
The Clinician is responsible for performing duties that involve the assessment, treatment, case management and programmatic support for youth admitted to Children’s Crisis Respite, both during and after their stay. This position is scheduled in a manner that best accommodates client, department, and Agency business needs.
Responsibilities:
+ Perform clinical assessments and documentation.
+ Participate in the development and implementation of treatment.
+ Monitor and evaluate treatment plan implementation.
+ Provide individual and family therapy during the youth’s stay and after they are discharged.
+ Provide therapeutic support during youth crisis.
+ Network with all individuals/agencies associated with youth. This includes inter- and intra-agency meetings or proceedings.
+ Provide information to respite staff that relates to treatment and casework.
+ Function as part of program leadership.
+ Function as part of the periodic on-call rotation.
+ Other duties assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
+ Master’s Degree in Social Work or other related field from an accredited institution.
+ New York State licensed in Social Work or other mental health profession.
+ Maintain his/her professional standing in the field. Expectations include identifying areas needing additional training, knowledge or skills, discussing those professional needs with department supervisor(s), and maintaining professional licensure.
+ Demonstrate high levels of written and verbal communication skills.
+ Manage the paperwork demands of the position within the time frames established.
+ Maintain productive and professional relationships with all Agency staff, children, parents and the community.
+ Maintain the highest of ethical standards and conduct.
+ Valid driver’s license.
+ Regular and timely attendance.
Essential Job Qualifications:
+ Ability to lift pounds without assistance.
+ Able to provide crisis intervention including physical restraints. Restraints may include resistive force, bending, squatting, kneeling, lying down, and holding youth in order to maintain safety.
+ Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time
+ Ability to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion
+ Ability to walk up and downstairs up to several times per day
