We have an exciting opportunity to join the brand-new River Liverpool Drug and Alcohol Support Services — a service designed to empower people on their recovery journey and create long-lasting, positive change.

As a Criminal Justice Probation Recovery Worker, you’ll play a key role in supporting individuals involved in the criminal justice system, especially those coming through our prison link pathway, as well as through courts, probation, and police partners. You’ll walk alongside people as they take their next steps forward, offering guidance, motivation, and compassionate support.

Where: Liverpool (various hubs)

Full Time Salary:* £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 pro rata dependent on experience 

Hours:* Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

 

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

 

**Successful candidates will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and obtain either HMPPS security clearance, Police Vetting ".

 

Responsibilities About the Role

In this rewarding and varied role, you’ll support people from their first contact with our service, through every step of their treatment and recovery journey. You’ll provide tailored, one-to-one keywork, facilitate group programmes, and work closely with partner agencies such as police, courts, prisons, and probation.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting screening, assessment, and recovery planning

Supporting individuals involved in the criminal justice system

Delivering motivational, evidence-based interventions and harm reduction

Promoting carer, community, and peer involvement

Advocating for access to relevant support and treatment pathways

Liaising with partners to ensure coordinated, effective support

Safeguarding adults and children in line with best practice

Supporting people to reintegrate socially and lead safe, healthy, and meaningful lives

You may also deliver additional wellbeing-focused interventions such as  substance awareness education.

About You

You’ll be someone who is:

Passionate about helping others, especially those facing complex challenges

Experienced in the field of substance use, health, social care, or the criminal justice system

A skilled communicator, with strong verbal, written, and IT skills

Organised, proactive, and confident working independently and as part of a team

Knowledgeable in safeguarding, confidentiality, and partnership working

Committed to inclusion, equity, and promoting recovery in all its forms

Open to learning and eager to support the development of others
