This is a temporary position located at our Bemidji office with an anticipated end date of 9/1/2027. This position is eligible to telework up to two (2) days per week at supervisory discretion. This position will perform complex investigative intelligence work within multiple jurisdictions locally, nationally and internationally in cooperation with special agents of the BCA. The incumbent develops, maintains and improves intelligence data collection within specialty area(s) to analyze patterns, threats and trends for case development and agency and unit goal achievements. This position collaborates on criminal investigations with all federal, state, tribal, and local law enforcement agency personnel and community and prosecutorial partners regarding criminal intelligence information, patterns, trends, and/or evidence as well as presents investigative findings. The Department of Public Safety is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment. DPS does not participate in E-Verify. **Minimum Qualifications** Three (3) years of experience doing criminal investigative work in a law enforcement, military, or other closely related field. *BA degree in criminal justice or closely related field may substitute for one (1) year; MA degree in criminal justice or closely related field may substitute for eighteen (18) months; AA degree in criminal justice or closely related field may substitute for six (6) months OR Certification (satisfactory completion of probation) as a CIA in the MN BCA Investigations Division. Work experience should include the following: + Ability to understand sensitivity of criminal investigative and homeland security data with demonstrated ability to operate within specific rules and procedures established for the protection of privacy and civil rights. + Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare written assessments and reports. + Comprehensive experience working with database systems to include collecting, analyzing, and processing data. + Demonstrated ability to conduct research and author reports based on research. + Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities. **Preferred Qualifications** One (1) year of complex criminal investigative work exp with the MN BCA Investigations Division. Skilled at problem-solving and utilizing accurate data among large quantities of information gathered. Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Computer and statistical skills to efficiently access, research and/or create new statistical reports on information from available databases. **Physical Requirements** Light: Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and moving and transporting light objects frequently.
