Job Description
The Credit Specialist is responsible for verifying and entering credit data from all project documents for managerial review and approval. This role includes general administrative duties, such as assisting Credit Managers with phone calls, composing routine correspondence, mailing letters, and processing UPS packages. The Credit Specialist is tasked with preparing bank deposits, posting AR cash receipts, and running weekly AR reports for Credit Managers. Additionally, the role involves processing and investigating credit applications, industry trades, and bank information, as well as running D&B reports for both new and existing customers. The specialist will update customer files to satisfy audit regulations and interact daily with customers, staff, and credit agencies to process credit requirements. Processing credit card transactions and monthly reconciliations is also a key responsibility. The successful candidate will maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate effectively with all internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
+ Verify and enter credit data from project documents for manager review and approval.
+ Assist Credit Managers with general administrative duties, including answering phones and handling correspondence.
+ Prepare bank deposits, post AR cash receipts, and run weekly AR reports.
+ Process and investigate credit applications and run D&B reports.
+ Update customer files to comply with audit regulations.
+ Interact with customers, staff, and credit agencies to process credit requirements.
+ Process credit card transactions and monthly reconciliations.
+ Support Credit Managers and perform additional duties as assigned.
+ Ensure regular and reliable attendance.
Essential Skills
+ 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivables or credit and collections strongly preferred.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Experience with accounts receivable and bank receipts.
+ Ability to process credit card transactions and perform monthly reconciliations.
+ Experience in construction or manufacturing.
+ Knowledge of D365 preferred.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to follow explicit directives and prioritize tasks effectively.
+ Proficiency with MS Excel and Word.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
+ Typing speed of 40 wpm or more.
+ Experience using High Radius and Blue Beam preferred.
Work Environment
This position follows a hybrid work model, with the expectation to be onsite at the Point of Rocks, MD location up to three days per week, or as determined by your manager based on team and business needs. The remaining days may be worked remotely. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Point of Rocks, MD location. Flexibility in the hybrid schedule may vary depending on departmental needs. The work hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. The work environment is fast-paced, and hitting deadlines is crucial. The Credit and Collection Team consists of four Credit Managers and one administrative support member.
