Credit Deputy (Vice President)

Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (“MSPBNA”), as part of Wealth Management, offers banking and credit products and services, including securities-based lending, mortgage loans and home equity lines of credit primarily to Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s high net worth clients.
MSPBNA Home Loans is seeking a Credit Deputy who is an experienced mortgage underwriting manager who will be responsible for supporting the Regional Underwriting Manager in managing the underwriting process, pipeline management, loan quality, personnel, and deal structuring of complex mortgage transactions within their assigned region. The role will support the regional team and partners to ensure proper controls and procedures exist for a timely and accurate process of credit reviews and will maintain an environment of quality, service, accuracy and efficiency.
The person filling this role has a history of managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and navigating competing priorities while demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills in order to collaborate with leadership to drive employee performance, enhance productivity, and support business objectives in a regulated financial environment.
This role will report to an assigned Regional Underwriting Manager and can be located in Coppell, Tempe or Remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide onboarding, training, and coaching to team members and assigned direct reports. Manage, mentor, train, upskill and evaluate a team of underwriters/direct reports.Provide guidance as related to complex income scenarios.Review and second sign transactions and escalations for exceptions and large loan amounts.Serve as a main point of contact for Origination Leaders for loan structuring/re-structuring, exceptions, escalations, decisions and/or recommendations.Provide support to team on pipeline management, deal prioritization and coverage plans.Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
10+ years of experience credit analysis and underwriting for high net-worth individuals.2+ years of experience managing a team of underwriters preferred.Expert level knowledge of credit risk and underwriting non-conforming, jumbo loans.Private bank lending, business relationship management or commercial credit analysis experience including providing business financing preferred.Private bank lending experience, business relationship management or commercial credit analysis experience including providing business financing preferred.Experience in pipeline management preferred.Excellent conflict resolution skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.College degree preferred or equivalent experience, advance degree a plus.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:
