We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation in the utilities sector, seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their dynamic and collaborative team. About the Role
As Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing the sales ledger, pursuing outstanding business-to-business payments, resolving queries promptly, and maintaining effective customer relationships. Your work will directly support the company’s cash flow and credit risk objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Collect outstanding B2B payments by phone, email and written communication in line with agreed termsMaintain accurate records of communication, payment plans and account activity using D365Monitor customer accounts and allocate incoming payments efficientlyIssue monthly statements and weekly aged debt reportsMeet cash collection and telephony targets to reduce debt exposureReconcile accounts and ensure correct posting of cash and credit notesResolve customer queries working closely with internal teamsEscalate high-risk accounts or persistent late payers where necessaryAssess new customers' creditworthiness and recommend credit limitsParticipate in legal processes, forecasting and query resolution meetingsSupport continuous improvement initiatives in credit control processesSkills and Experience
Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivableExperience in the utilities sector is desirableStrong communication and negotiation skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailGood working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (D365 experience preferred)CICM qualification (or working towards) is an advantageAbility to manage workload and prioritise tasks in a busy environmentEducation
Degree desirableMinimum of 3 Highers (or equivalent)CICM qualification or equivalent practical experienceSalary and Benefits
