Description We are looking for an experienced Credit/Collections Specialist to join our team in Urbandale, Iowa. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in managing and optimizing credit and collections processes for both commercial and consumer accounts. This position requires a proactive approach to handling billing and collection activities while ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining positive customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee credit and collections activities for both commercial and consumer accounts to minimize outstanding balances.
• Manage billing collection processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.
• Communicate effectively with clients to address payment delays and negotiate repayment plans.
• Analyze credit risks and evaluate customer accounts to determine appropriate credit limits.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments to ensure timely resolution.
• Prepare regular reports on collection activities and account statuses for management review.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and streamline collection workflows.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all credit and collection operations.
• Implement strategies to improve collection rates and reduce bad debt expenses.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers while addressing sensitive financial matters. Requirements • Proven experience in credit and collections, specifically with commercial and consumer accounts.
• Strong knowledge of billing collection processes and best practices.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to handle customer interactions effectively.
• Ability to analyze credit risks and make informed decisions on account management.
• Proficiency in using collection tools and systems to track and manage receivables.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in credit and collections.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple accounts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
