Job Title: Credit Analyst
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to assess credit data and financial statements to determine the risk in extending credit or lending money. The Credit Analyst will play a key role in managing customer credit risk, setting credit limits, and supporting the overall credit and collections strategy to maintain healthy cash flow and minimize bad debt.
Key Responsibilities
+ Analyze customer creditworthiness using financial statements, credit reports, payment history, and industry data.
+ Make informed credit recommendations and set credit limits based on risk assessment.
+ Monitor existing accounts for signs of deteriorating credit or increased risk.
+ Collaborate with sales and collections teams to ensure customer accounts remain within agreed credit terms.
+ Prepare and maintain credit files and documentation in accordance with company policies.
+ Assist in the development and enforcement of credit policies and procedures.
+ Communicate directly with customers and stakeholders to resolve credit or billing-related issues.
+ Generate credit risk reports and support management with data-driven insights.
+ Participate in credit review meetings and support collections strategy as needed.
+ Ensure compliance with internal controls, legal guidelines, and financial regulations.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
+ 2–5 years of experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, or related finance roles.
+ Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) a plus.
+ Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
+ High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
+ Familiarity with credit agencies and scoring models (e.g., D& B, Experian, Moody’s)
+ Experience managing trade credit and commercial collections
+ Knowledge of UCC filings and lien processes
