Job Overview
We are seeking a Creative Technologist to join our Design team at Mercer. You will be joining us in building Oliver Wyman’s new in-house creative hub in Lisbon.
This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Role Overview
We're building a design research team that sits alongside traditional creative teams, focused on uncovering scalable and tech-driven solutions for creative challenges.
You'll develop systematic frameworks ready for AI-driven automation, developing design systems that scale from individual digital outputs to comprehensive brand design ecosystems.
You have
A diverse design background and you have been in contact with many disciplines (some UI is a plus)
A keen eye for good design and the ability to anticipate design needs;
The notion of what a great design system looks like
A great understanding of brand and design as a whole, considering all it's instances.
You need to
Know all about Figma and its possibilities is a must;
Know the anatomy of a design system;
Be proficient in the Adobe Creative suite is a must;
Be fluent in AI tools (not a must but make sure you are willing to learn on the job)
You will
Build Integrated Design Systems
Create systematic frameworks that span all brand expressions
Develop design systems, component libraries, and documentation that work holistically across disciplines
Structure design data to integrate seamlessly with technical prototypes
Design templates and systems that can be automated and scaled programmatically
Experiment with AI-Enhanced Workflows
Test and implement AI tools across image, video, audio, and text generation
Develop automated workflows for brand asset creation;
Build systematic approaches to AI-assisted design that can be adopted company-wide;
Pioneer methods for programmatic design.
Research Through Making
Participate in sprint-based experiments testing new creative-tech approaches
Build design components that work within rapid prototype cycles
Test systematic approaches against real creative challenges
Iterate based on practical implementation learnings
What makes you stand out?
This role demands an entrepreneurial mindset that combines rapid learning agility with systematic problem-solving instincts. You'll need to quickly adapt to emerging tools and methodologies while testing ideas through making rather than extensive planning.
Success requires the ability to identify patterns across diverse design contexts, organize complex systems into usable structures, and communicate these concepts clearly to both creative and technical team members.
Most importantly, you must be comfortable with change within established workflows while working autonomously in a small, experimental team environment where resilience is essential.
Why join us?
At Oliver Wyman, you’ll join a global creative team that’s not afraid to experiment and iterate. We’re building the next generation of tools and experiences—together. If you’re passionate about innovation and want to help shape what’s next, we’d love to hear from you.
We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
