Creative Presale Manager

The Creative Presale Manager guides overall creative strategy and messaging for presale materials for presentation support. Leads the project management of marketing projects including growth marketing initiatives and internal marketing projects supporting BES departments. Collaborates with other team members including but not limited to Sales, Graphic Designers, Solution Design Managers, and other subject matter experts. Manages Smartsheet project management tasks. Writes, edits and gathers information from multiple sources, including internal and outside sources, and combines into unified messaging.

Scope

Writes/edits presale copy for 30+ presentations and additional marketing support projects annually, resulting in incremental sales to achieve financial goals. Strategizes client deliverable(s) and suggests/manages appropriate creative response including the overall graphic look and delivery of elements of the presentation. May develop promotional campaign communications as required for proposals. Uses basic HTML coding to support delivery of client proposals electronically.

Reporting and Working Relationships

Reports to Director, Marketing and Creative Services. Interacts routinely with Solution Design Managers, Sales, Creative Program Managers and Product Owner teams. Serves as liaison between Proposal Development and Marketing team. Participates in sales presentations as a creative communications expert. Interacts with Maritz SMEs and functional area directors as needed.

Principle Responsibilities

50% PRESALE MESSAGING STRATEGY: Works closely with Sales team to write/edit appropriate message for presentation-stage responses with keen focus on Maritz value proposition including experience design. Researches, writes and edits communication materials using existing knowledge, supplemented by additional research and interviews. Adheres to AP writing and style guidelines. Proofreads all written materials, as well as other team member documents as needed. Provides cohesive and creative product.

30% PRESALE CREATIVE MANAGEMENT: Works with Designers to develop theme, logo and graphic treatments. Acts as Maritz brand steward. Employs basic HTML coding to support client proposals electronically. Manages presentation-stage delivery including custom electronic and hard copies, sourcing and packaging. Coordinates multimedia support. Leads pre-sale strategy meetings in conjunction with Sales during presentation phase. Responsible for presentation folders and documents. Leads post-delivery debrief.

20% MARKETING SUPPORT: Works on initiatives to support overall Maritz value proposition; may include writing for case studies, product overviews, blog content, email campaigns, social media posts and capabilities presentations. Supports content management for Qvidian database. Works with Marketing Designer to develop and update internal/external marketing assets and templates.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Journalism, Communications, or English Literature or equivalent experience required.  

Minimum 5 years equivalent professional/business writing experience required.

3 - 5 years of experience working within the meeting & events industry strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of proposal development, event design, planning, delivery, and post-event evaluation within the meetings and business events industry preferred.

Proven administrative and organizational skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Prior experience in travel industry desired.

Excellent project management skills.
