CRE Product Control - Senior Lead Business Aligned Finance Analyst

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a seasoned Product Controller responsible for supporting the Commercial Real Estate(CRE) Line of Business.


In this role, you will:

Responsible for reviewing the daily Profit & Loss (P&L) – Comprehensive P&L, Buy &Hold (i.e. ‘Clean’) P&L, Volcker P&L, Front Office risk-based P&L.Credibly challenge and analyze the P&L by understanding how it was earned or lost, watching for signs of risk such as market abuse, by analyzing risk-drivers, news deals, funding charges, market changes, and other relevant factors.  Review and approve P&L adjustments across all P&L types – Comprehensive, Clean, Volcker.Analyze Volcker metrics to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with the rules.Provide high quality commentary on P&L and balance sheet drivers to senior management.Review large transactions to ensure they are booked and accounted for correctly, and that pricing is reasonable against market standards.Provide challenge and Finance subject matter expertise in the New Products approval process.Help to research and resolve P&L issues arising from incorrect trade bookings, system errors, and valuation discrepancies, using both Finance and Front Office systems.Oversee the month-end close process for P&L, including general ledger reconciliations, and substantiation of balance sheet at a detailed level.Coordinate with India Product Control team on all aspects of the Product Control function.Maintain accurate policies and procedures that are up to date and can be easily followed by internal and external audit groups.Ensure compliance with internal guidelines (e.g. COSO controls), and internal and external audit recommendations.Develop and improve upon internal controls through critical evaluation of current environment, with the goal of implementing consistent, industry best practices across the enterprise


Required Qualifications:

10+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationBS/BA degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business


Required Qualifications for Europe, Middle East & Africa only:

Experience in Finance or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge and understanding of financial products: exposure to fixed income securities, derivatives, and foreign exchangeCapital markets experienceStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracyFinancial modeling experienceAbility to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are importantExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMaster of Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Familiarity with Wells Fargo Securities systems a plus (e.g Calypso, Broadridge, GMI, OpicsKnowledge of Wells Fargo reporting systems and internal databases (i.e. IRIS, Essbase)Advanced desktop programming skills (SQL/Access/VBA/Excel)
