**Area Description**

The Architecture team at GFiber Access is responsible for designing the first converged cloud-native network that will make the internet available to all. You will be providing users with the fastest and smoothest wireless services possible while constantly trying to push the boundaries and limits. GFiber works to go the very last mile, providing fiber-optic Internet connections directly to users' homes. You'll be building one of the fastest whole home wireless networks in America so that users can experience the future of wireless broadband because we know that your wireless in-home connection can never be too fast enough.
**Role Description (and additional job description)**
As a member of the CPE team, you will make use of your good understanding of CPE/client-gateways, Client-side Networking, and Distributed System Architecture to design a secure, scalable and flexible cloud-native service-provider network that can efficiently & reliably ensure our users stay connected with our suite of products, and the rest of the world alike. This role at GFiber is not just testing the Wireless product, but keeps evaluating new wireless products (CPE) and associated features. You will be responsible for defining product architecture, product requirements as well as designing new test cases to evaluate the latest new Wi-Fi products as well as the new Wi-Fi features. You will also be the technical point of contact for all vendors for any new Wi-Fi product development. The role also involves evaluating new Wi-Fi test equipment in the lab and customizing new test cases for different Wi-Fi use case scenarios.
You'll have a huge impact on the daily quality of GFiber's growing suite of products and services.
You will use your knowledge of wireless and routing technology to promote proper engineering practice, new product intake strategy and other advanced concepts across products.
**In this role, you’ll:**
+ As a CPE Architect, closely work with system architects, software engineers, product managers and business stakeholders to create & review business requirements, end-to-end engineering estimates & RFP specifications, and system evolution roadmaps.
+ Take responsibility for make-vs-buy decisions for cross-cutting concerns & key system modules.
+ Provide input into proper resource and schedule management frameworks used by project stakeholders, technical program managers, and engineering managers.
+ Define the CPE requirements and lead the CPE qualification of any new product with new wireless technology, including assessment of device and technologies meeting business needs.
+ Provide guidance to customer support agents and network operations on what network and device telemetry are useful for end-user troubleshooting and means to retrieve that data
+ Manage CPE vendor selection process, engage w/ relevant vendors, partners, and standardization bodies to advance the networking/telecommunication industry to the next level.
**At a minimum we’d like you to have:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent applicable experience.
+ 7 years of working as a Lead CPE/Product Architect in Service Provider/Vendor environment.
+ Experience with Wireless technologies used in local-area-networks (i.e. WiFi (802.11ax), band mgmt, WiFi Meshing, EasyMesh, etc.) and networking technologies (i.e. IP/Ethernet, Telemetry).
+ Lab experience for IXIA(Veriwave), Spirent(Octoscope), Candela Test Tool (TR398) or relevant WiFi test tools.
**It’s preferred if you have:**
+ MS or PhD in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience.
+ Experience with client-side application layer communication protocols such as TR-069/369, netconf, SNMP, MQTT, and Protocol Buffers.
+ 10 years of proven experience in operating telecom / service-provider networks.
+ Experience with Cloud and security architecture of CPE devices.
+ Knowledge of PON technologies like GPON, XGS, etc.
+ Experience with CPE/client-side networking technologies (i.e. IP/Ethernet, Telemetry).
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $164,000 - $241,100 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
