We’re looking for a Desktop Tech II to join our team.
We are seeking a Responsible, organized, safety-conscious driver to handle both traditional courier responsibilities with additional duties related to the stock of IT parts and assets within your assigned vehicle. The ideal candidate will enjoy being behind the wheel, seeing new places, and meeting new people. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely pickup and delivery of packaged IT equipment directly to and from customer facilities. A key function of this role will include ordering, replenishment, returns, and asset reconciliation, are completed daily. This ensures that stock levels are maintained to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational needs.
**This is a driving position in Manhattan**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Deliver materials to designated locations in a timely fashion.
+ Comply with all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
+ Maintain a clean and operational vehicle.
+ Represent the company positively and professionally in interactions with customers and the general public.
+ Gain a thorough understanding of the local area and the most efficient routes.
+ Parts Ordering: Ensure timely ordering of required parts and supplies to maintain adequate van stock levels.
+ Parts Replenishment: Restock parts into the van, ensuring that all required parts are available for use. Monitor stock levels daily and proactively reorder parts as needed to prevent shortages.
+ Parts Returns: Manage the return process for defective, unused, or excess parts. Ensure all returns are processed according to company policies.
+ Parts Reconciliation: Track and report on all IT assets and parts received, used, or returned daily. Ensure all parts and assets are accounted for and reconciled. Responsibilities.
+ Operate company designated vehicles to make pickups and deliveries.
+ Manage parts and assets at optimal stock levels with a focus on meeting defined Service Level.
+ Document all deliveries, returns, and inventory movements accurately.
+ Work closely with field technicians to understand parts needs and ensure they have the necessary equipment delivered in order to meet SLAs.
+ Use navigational technology to find and follow optimal routes.
+ Assist with regular vehicle inspections, arranging maintenance when necessary.
+ Refuel vehicles and ensure they’re always ready for use.
**Qualifications:**
+ Understanding of inventory control processes and basic logistics is required.
+ Time management and SLA requirements for parts management.
+ Valid driver’s license. Clean driving record for at least one year.
+ Ability to drive for extended periods.
+ Strong commitment to safety.
+ Excellent navigational skills.
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to stand, walk, pack, unpack, delivery vehicles.
+ Lift and manually transport packages and equipment up to 50lbs.
+ 2+ years of experience in a courier or logistics role, preferably within the IT or technical services industry.
+ Familiarity with IT hardware and components is a plus.
+ Experience driving in a professional capacity.
+ Experience using GPS technology.
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills.
+ Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance.
+ Familiarity with the local area
**Wage Range** **:**
The hourly rate for this position is between $15.75 - $23.10 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
