You will develop and manage global, regional or market level programs using your subject matter expertise to support of our Impact pillars of Sustainability, Mindful Snacking, and Social Impact. In this role, you will direct others (internally and externally) on the implementation of programs to grow our business.

As you implement the programs, you will oversee cross-functional project teams, agencies and NGO partners, manage program budgets, create and maintain reports on program results. You will work locally with business colleagues and external partners to implement plans under each respective pillar.

**What you need to know about this position:**
Lead and manage the Cocoa Life Program in Côte d’Ivoire, ensuring alignment with the global strategy and budget adherence. Manage the Program Management Unit team, implementing partners, and engage stakeholders, including authorities, to maximize return of investment of the program to the business.
**What extra ingredients you will bring:**
This role is critical to the success of the Cocoa Life program in Côte d’Ivoire. The Head of the Program in Cote d’Ivoire will be responsible for the following:
**Strategic Leadership & Implementation:**
+ Own and implement the Cocoa Life strategy in Côte d’Ivoire, aligning with global strategy, objectives, plans, deliverables, and budget.
+ Develop and communicate the Côte d’Ivoire program strategy, clearly articulating goals and execution plans with in country team and partners. Seek alignment with other cocoa initiatives and government policy, optimizing program impact.
+ Coordinate budget development, approve partners’ plans, and make contractual arrangements.
+ Oversee program implementation via supervision of the Operations Manager and the program operations team; oversee implementation of operational plans, risks and opportunities, and resolve arising issues.
+ Own the Standard Operational Guidelines for Côte d'Ivoire, which defines relationship and coordination with partners.
+ Support MDLZ business and CL teams with in-depth analysis of the cocoa sector, relevant policies, and institutions in Côte d’Ivoire, providing valuable insights for decision-making to leadership.
**Financial Oversight & Administration:**
+ Manage the Côte d’Ivoire Cocoa Life budget, ensuring compliance with contracts and maximizing return on investment, demonstrating responsible financial management.
+ Provide overall fiscal and administrative stewardship of Cocoa Life in Côte d’Ivoire, ensuring compliance with MDLZ policies and regulations.
+ Supervise the Financial and Operations Managers to monitor spending against budget, identifying and addressing potential budget variances.
+ Improve and oversee the good functioning of administrative systems and processes managed by the Financial Manager, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and compliance with MDLZ policies.
**Stakeholder Engagement & Representation:**
+ Act as Director General of Mondelez Côte d'Ivoire and as Representative of Cocoa Life in Côte d'Ivoire.
+ Represent MDLZ and the Cocoa Life Program, fostering strong relationships and collaboration, to external stakeholders, including government entities (e.g. Conseil du Café Cacao), partners, and WCF country huddle, and internally to the Cocoa Life Working Group, the West Africa MDLZ business, the SSA BU and AMEA and MEU regions.
+ Strengthen the reputation of MDLZ and Cocoa Life through proactive advocacy and communications, building trust and credibility with local authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
+ Ensure alignment and synergy with Cocoa Life in policy discussions and other relevant national/regional forums, promoting a unified and impactful approach.
**Team Leadership & Management:**
+ Lead, manage, and develop the Cocoa Life Côte d’Ivoire team, building a high-performing team through effective recruitment, people development, and mentoring.
+ Ensure an appropriate organizational structure and qualified staffing, optimizing team effectiveness and efficiency.
+ Manage direct reports, fostering a compliant and engaged work environment where all employees can speak up, promoting open communication and ethical conduct.
+ Oversee the creation of work plans, regular reporting, and objective-based management, ensuring accountability and progress tracking.
**Performance Reporting & Continuous Improvement:**
+ Report program performance to the business, providing accurate KPI reporting and sign-off on final Proof of Performance reporting, demonstrating program value and impact.
+ Supervise the Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Verification (MELV) Program Manager to coordinate monitoring of program activities according to a framework and on-time reporting, ensuring data quality and program accountability.
+ Drive continuous improvement through learnings and support learning processes led by the MELV team, towards an evidence-based strategy, promoting data-driven decision-making and program optimization.
**Education / Certifications:**
+ Master’s degree in a relevant field (Development, Business Administration).
+ 10+ years of experience leading sustainability programs and/or procurement.
**Job specific requirements:**
+ Experience working with senior stakeholders, including government officials.
+ Experience managing sizeable budgets and diverse teams.
+ Strong skills in program conceptualization, policy analysis, and communication.
+ Fluency in French and English.
+ Leader of MDLZ values, ethical, and compliant.

+ Tenacious and results-oriented entrepreneur.
+ Sensitive to commercial expectations and political sensitivities in West Africa.
