Responsible for underwriting activities and P&L responsibility of the marine products and managing a team of product specialists that support all channels (agency, direct, local brokers and MTP).

The OpportunityResponsible for underwriting activities and P&L responsibility of the Marine products.Responsible for managing a team of product specialists that support all channels (agency, direct, local brokers and MTP)Responsible for managing UW relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery, product development and innovation.Responsible for managing overall business relationship with MTPs and brokers in the area of GWP growth.Ensure the ongoing technical development of underwriters in line with staff development plans and ideal DAL state.Ensure the team’s awareness of the business plan and it’s context, to be able to make decisions appropriatelyYour new roleApply the reinsurance strategy in order to safeguard the portfolioAdhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimize risk and maximize efficiencyProvide technical expert support to the identification of issues and opportunities within area of ExpertiseDemonstrate understanding and awareness of market dynamics and market cycle to drive and enhance business performanceAssist in managing resources across the team to ensure business requirements are achievedPositively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximize brand leverageContribute to the development of the team’s business plan in order to maximize productivity and performanceEstablish strong relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues, to maximize influence and achieve business objectivesUnderwrite complex insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and the personal authority to meet business objectives, including Negotiating rates, terms and conditions for existing and new business; compliance of production and issue of contract certainty documentation ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines ensuring contribution to the business plan and objectives, and support credit control in payment collectionSupport the divisional underwriting function to actively manage talent (attract, recruit, develop and retain) to build people capability for the future (succession planning)
