Position Purpose:
Under the direction of a cafeteria supervisor, the Counter Aide is responsible for the portioning, setting up and service of food items and cleaning and maintenance of all areas and equipment related to the cafeteria. Assists with set-up, service, and clean-up of special functions as assigned
What you will do:
Assists with meal service in the cafeteria to ensure customer satisfaction.
Operates departmental equipment in a safe and efficient manner and maintains assigned work areas in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
Assists in the set up and service of special functions.
Contributes to the efficient operation of the department and the achievement of excellence by following departmental and hospital guidelines.
Working Conditions:
A moderate amount of lifting, bending, standing and walking are required. Position requires ability to constantly lift light objects less than 20 lbs., perform simple manipulative, arm-hand steadiness and hand-eye coordination skills; walk and stand for prolonged periods; see objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
Subject to hazards associated with cafeteria environment including wet surfaces, cleaning and cooking equipment, sharp instruments, entering refrigerators and freezer. Employee may frequently be exposed to high, low and fluctuations in temperature; hazardous materials such as chemicals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school degree preferred
Experience: Minimum 1 year food service experience
Skills: Excellent customer relation skills
