We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Mercer. This role will be based in Amman or Cairo. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.  

We will count on you to:

Provide comprehensive legal advice on a diverse range of corporate and commercial matters to support Marsh and Mercer businesses in the Middle East. Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Stay abreast of new laws and regulations, analyzing their implications for the company and advising on necessary adjustments. Identify potential legal risks and develop innovative strategies to manage and mitigate them effectively. Collaborate with external legal counsel and engage in negotiations with external parties, escalating unresolved issues as necessary. Offer practical guidance to colleagues, balancing legal considerations with business needs, and clarifying contract terms and legal issues. Assist in preparing responses to RFP proposals for potential clients, ensuring compliance and competitiveness. Proactively manage workflow to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.   

What you need to have: 

A minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department. Proven proficiency in reviewing and negotiating contracts, with a strong understanding of contractual risk. Some exposure to dispute resolution and negotiations, demonstrating a practical approach to legal challenges. Proficiency in English and Arabic.
