**Position Summary**
As Legal Counsel-Caremark you will provide legal and regulatory review, analysis and counsel to internal business partners with respect to PBM pharmacy network matters including review and response to pharmacy complaints when legal support is needed, evaluation of pharmacy data pulls for regulatory requests including state department of insurance inquiries, examinations, and actions, research and analysis of state law related to pharmacy audit questions, PBM client requests and review of provider manual updates and pharmacy communications. You will work collaboratively with other attorneys and partners on pharmacy network matters, including assisting with pharmacy disputes, supporting legal subject matter experts with respect to insurance department market conduct exams and enforcement actions and in Medicare/Medicaid pharmacy network contracting. You will identify business and legal risks and provide solutions which balance legal needs and business objectives. You will be expected to develop an understanding of the business goals of internal clients and maintain engaged and supportive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization. As part of the Legal team, you will gain experience with a dynamic in-house legal department and play a key role in supporting the business. You will further develop your skills in a high functioning, regulated environment.
**Required Qualifications**
5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney.
2+ years of healthcare law experience.
Admitted to practice in at least one state and in good standing.
Ability to travel up to 5%.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Experience handling healthcare regulatory matters (PBM, healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.).
**Education**
JD required.
**Pay Range**
The typical pay range for this role is:
$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
