We are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel with a focus on employment law and commercial agreements to join our legal team. This role will report directly to the General Counsel and will be based in a hybrid work arrangement, commutable to Secaucus.

Responsibilities

The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for:

Providing advice regarding employment law matters.Negotiating and drafting commercial agreements.The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for negotiating and drafting various types of commercial agreements, including but not limited to:
Service agreementsSupply agreementsPurchase agreements.Licensing agreementsConfidentiality agreementsSales agreementsKey skills required for effective negotiation and drafting include:Strong understanding of contract law and commercial termsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to identify and mitigate risksAttention to detail and precision in languageStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple negotiations simultaneouslyBest practices for effective negotiation and drafting:Clearly define the scope and objectives of the agreementEnsure all parties have a mutual understanding of the termsBe prepared to compromise and find mutually beneficial solutionsMaintain clear and open communication throughout the negotiation processReview and revise the agreement thoroughly before finalizingSeek input from relevant stakeholders and experts
Managing employment-related litigation and disputes, including EEOC claims and overseeing outside counsel.Developing and delivering training on employment law topics and contract compliance.Reviewing and drafting internal policies and procedures, including employee handbooks and contract templates.Working cross-functionally with departments such as HR, Compliance, and Procurement on policy development, investigations, and contract execution. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.5-7 years of experience, with both law firm and in-house experience.Strong knowledge of employment law and commercial agreements.Experience managing employment-related litigation and disputes.Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.Ability to develop and deliver training on legal topics.Experience reviewing and drafting internal policies and procedures.Preferred Skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

Strong business judgment.Collaborative and team-oriented.Clear and persuasive communicator.Proactive and able to work independently.Detail-oriented and organized.Ability to align legal guidance with long-term business goals and proactively manage legal risk.

Compensation The salary for this position is based on many factors such as role requirements, skill set, years of experience and other organizational needs.
